Tips on Instant Relief for UTI
1. In the event that you are suffering from severe pain from UTI, your doctor may recommend NSAIDs or painkillers. Though it is rare for a person with UTI to experience such degrees of pain, it does happen.
Avoid self-medicating, and always ask your doctor about the best painkiller for you. Your doctor will not only take your condition into consideration, but also your medical history. Not all painkillers are created equal – some may cause issues for people with hypertension, diabetes, and other common health conditions.
2. Cranberries are naturally rich in antioxidants and antibacterial fighting compounds. However, the rich sugar content of commercial cranberry juices leave little to be desired. You can drink cranberry juice to help flush your system of bacteria.
However, you must limit your consumption to one or two servings per day only. The sugar in commercial cranberry juice can encourage the growth of bacteria, so it is best to limit your consumption of sugar.
Drink plenty of fluids afterward to help the flushing process. You do not have to buy any fancy additives so you can make your water fitter for a natural kidney flush. Clean, pure water is all you will need. Now, how many glasses of pure water should you drink per day?
Eight glasses is the average requirement for adults in the United States, but if you feel the need to drink more, give in. Avoid soda and other diuretic beverages, as these are not beneficial to people with UTI and may even cause problems.
3. Taking vitamin C supplements while you are medicating for UTI may also help ease some of the pain. The effect may not be instant, but the natural acidity of vitamin C will definitely make it harder for fecal bacteria to colonize the lining of the urethra and bladder.
Additionally, vitamin C naturally strengthens the immune system, which is great for people who have poor immunity due to lifestyle issues, or health problems such as type 2 diabetes.
If you don’t like taking vitamin supplements, you can get your daily dose of vitamin C from consuming two cups of freshly squeezed orange juice or by eating raw fruits. Combine your new fruit regimen with some dark green vegetables and you’re halfway done in conquering any bacterial infection!
