Creating A Functional Fatty Liver Diet Plan For The Fatty Liver Disease

Health / Remedies

Fatty liver disease is becoming more and more prevalent today because of the astronomical rise in obesity in much of the Western World. Poor eating habits, and almost no exercise for more than 50% of the total population, means fatty liver disease will soon become as common as the high cholesterol and diabetes. If you have been recently diagnosed with NAFLD, or Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, know that you can make the changes now to make your liver healthier again. In this facts article, we’re going to show you just how easy it can be to reduce the fat in your liver through simple diet changes.

Are you ready? Let’s start!

Fatty Liver Disease Diet Plan – Reduce Your Livers Fat

1.    Portions Matter – The portions in your meals are of vital importance if you want to take control of your weight. Your meals should be 40% vegetables, 40% carbohydrates (e.g. pasta), and 20% dairy and protein.

Needs change depending on a person’s actual medical condition, so consult with your physician before changing your diet just to make sure. Weight loss of 10% of one’s total body weight can help reduce fat stores in your liver, and can even help reduce the risk for heart attack and stroke.

It is important for you to realize early on that all your organs are interconnected. If something is wrong with your heart, your liver and kidneys will also take damage. The same is true if your liver is the first to take damage – your cardiovascular system, and even your brain, will be affected.

2.    Stock Up on Super Foods – Fruits and vegetables are amazing foods for the body because they contain not just calories but vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and special chemical compounds that protect the various systems of the body.

For example, the humble banana has recently been found to contain anti-cancer compounds. So, snacking on a banana instead of a chocolate chip cookie can actually help stave off cancer!

There really is no debate when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables. When you look at the statistics and the actual medical benefits of eating fruits and veggies, it doesn’t make sense to eat processed foods anymore.

3.    The Fat Debate – Several decades ago, people thought that fat made you fat. Fat contains more calories per gram than protein and carbohydrates… So, it logically means that fat can make you fat, right? It turns out that we were wrong.

While it is true that excessive consumption of fat can add pounds, it appears that fat itself does not encourage the storage and production of fat cells in the body. The culprit it turns out was carbohydrates, or starches.

When starch is digested by the body, the body is encouraged to store more fat cells and create more fat tissues. This in turn leads to conditions like fatty liver disease.

It is important for people to realize that while they may be avoiding fatty food, they aren’t doing themselves any favors by eating starchy and sugary foods. Moderation is key!
